Mike has chosen a kit-built model of a BR Standard Class 3, 2-6-2 tank engine. The kit was produced by Kemilway (visit their website) and was purchased from eBay for the princely sum of £100.00. Mike particularly likes this model as it looks good as well as being a smooth and reliable runner.
The BR Standard Class 3 2-6-2T was a class of steam locomotive designed by Robert Riddles for British Railways. From new, they were based on the Western Region, Southern Region, North Eastern Region and London Midland Region. The class had a short life as most of the work that they had been built for soon disappeared with the branch lines and the introduction of DMU services on shorter routes.
Milton Quays is an EM finescale model railway and is one of the major exhibition layouts owned by MKMRS. It is often seen on the exhibition circuit and is booked to appear at the annual Warley show this year on 24 and 25 November.
