We are delighted to announce that a record 2,300 people braved the rain and wind to attend our 2014 model railway exhibition on Saturday 15 February.
MKMRS would like to thank Andy York, from RMWeb, for opening the exhibition. Thanks also to all exhibitors and traders who worked hard to make the show a success and battled through the wind and rain to get there. Special thanks are due to Marston Vale Community Rail Partnership, London Midland trains, to MK Community Transport and Howe Park Scout Group who all assisted greatly to make the show a success.
We hope everyone enjoyed the day as much as we did and look forward to seeing you next year on Saturday 14 February, 10.00 – 16.30 at Shenley Brook End School.

Best layouts
Our two awards for ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Best MKMRS Club Layout’ were judged this year by Andy York from RMWeb. Choosing from among the many high quality layouts on show was a difficult task, but in the end the following winners were selected:
Best in Show
Earl’s Court, by Terry Tew
Andy felt that the layout really captured the atmosphere of the area and era it represented and was an excellent example of what can be achieved in a small space.

Best MKMRS Club Layout
Dentdale, by Wayne Webb
Andy thought the scenery work on this layout was superb and that the layout was an example of what can be done using N gauge.

Special mention
Great Train Robbery, by Luton MRC
Although there was no official award available, Andy felt this layout deserved a special mention for the quality of modelling and the way in which the layout presents the facts around one of the major events in the social history of our railways.
