PLEASE SEE PRESS RELEASE 19 June 2012: www.mkmrs.org.uk/press-release

We are pleased to announce that just under 30,000 people (another record) visited our museum and club rooms during 2011!

We are always happy to welcome visitors to the society, but we are only part of the much larger experience that is Bletchley Park National Codes Centre (full details of what to see, admission prices and opening dates/times are available on the Bletchley Park website).

Weekend opening

The Society’s museum and club rooms are open to the public from 12.00 – 16.00 (12.00 – 17.00 in Summer) on most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. There are usually two or three layouts in operation, including a ‘Thomas’ layout which is always popular with children. There are also modelling exhibits and displays about the real railways’ contribution to the Second World War.

MKMRS members staff the museum and club area and are on hand to answer any questions you may have about the layouts and will endeavour to answer any queries about items on display – or anything else railway-related!

Group visits

We aim to accommodate pre-arranged visits at other times for groups who are interested in what we do. In the past, we have hosted visits from schools and model railway interest groups. All members who host school visits are CRB checked for the reassurance of parents and teachers.

If your group wishes to visit us please contact our Secretary, Chris Hughes (secretary@mkmrs.org.uk).

We look forward to meeting you.
